In Fall 2013, Katy Morley (former singer of Gayngs) stepped into a machine with a box of old instruments and a pair of borrowed headphones. In Spring 2015, Morly came out. Subsisting mostly on native Minnesotan vegetation and a deep wintery sadness, she abandoned academia and a sensible career in neuroscience to follow an irrepressible drive to fuse emotion with sound.

Morly’s EP Collection 12” combines her first EP (released last August) with her upcoming EP (to be released April 8) to provide a rounded picture of her powerful explorations into the transient space between joy and melancholy, major and minor, rhythm and flow. Morly will be playing a host of SXSW shows this March before embarking on a series of solo dates.
