Description
Swedish drummer Bengt Berger started the Bitter Funeral Beer Band 40 years ago with a collection of Swedish musicians, such as Bosse Skoglund, Anita Livsstrand, Christer Bothén plus Don Cherry. The band was inspired by funeral music from Ghana, which resulted in the groundbreaking cult record Bitter Funeral Beer, released on ECM in 1981.The album became an instant classic after its release. Bengt Berger and the Bitter Funeral Beer Band followed it up with Praise Drumming in 1987, an album that has been very hard to find on vinyl since long. Dragon now releases it on CD.
