Description
This best-of collection gathers 21 tracks by Christian act Sparks. Recorded in the 1970s and '80s, the songs on THE BEST OF SPARKS include "Beat The Clock," "La Dolce Vita," and "Young Girls."
Liner Note Author: Chris Welch .
The duo of Russell and Ron Mael have had such a long and varied career since forming the first lineup of Sparks (then known as Halfnelson) in their native Los Angeles in 1968 that no single-disc anthology can contain a full history. Indeed, this set omits the two odd art rock records that original lineup released in the early 1970s, starting with their breakthrough 1973 classic "This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both of Us." From there, the brothers' '70s and '80s explorations of glam, disco, and new wave synth pop are neatly covered in 21 tracks.
