Going And Staying' is a technical tour-de-force from Brass Monkey the brass driven powerhouse ensemble. Brass Monkey, the folk supergroup featuring Martin Carthy, perhaps the most important folk musician of his time and John Kirkpatrick, the recognised master of the concertina and melodeon, have released a number of fine records during the past thirty years. 'Going And Staying', first released in 2001, is one of their strongest. The album is a technical tour-de-force drawing upon deep English roots, uniting earthy folk tunes to contemporary sounds with a fully integrated brass section.
