DESCRIPTION
World-renowned for the exceptional quality of it's high-resolution audiophile recordings, Chesky Records is proud to present Greatest Chesky Audiophile Jazz Recordings as part of it's 40th anniversary celebration. Featuring an extraordinary assembly of legendary maestros and modern greats, this curated anthology showcases the label's commitment to capturing the raw, improvisational essence of jazz across a spectacular range of styles. The tracklist spans everything from the iconic, swinging presence of Clark Terry and John Pizzarelli on "Gee Baby Ain't I Good To You" to the beautiful union of enchanting Bossa Nova rhythms and jazz sophistication with Rosa Passos and Ron Carter on "Bahia Com H", as well as Leny Andrade alongside pianist Fred Hersch on "Manha Da Carnaval". The set further expands into brilliant showcases of instrumental virtuosity and vocal artistry, highlighting Alexis Cole's mesmerizing "After You've Gone", Beat Kaestli's intimate "The Nearness of You", and Monty Alexander's vibrant take on "Sweet Georgia Brown", alongside standout cuts by the Jimmy Cobb Quartet, Wycliffe Gordon, Clark Terry and the powerhouse lineup of Javon Jackson, David Hazeltine, Tony Reedus, and Paul Gill on "Caravan".
Captured live in natural, reverberant acoustic spaces without the use of artificial processing or overdubbing, every track on this compilation delivers the definitive Chesky experience-characterized by lifelike presence, rich tonal warmth, and unparalleled spatial depth. Greatest Chesky Audiophile Jazz Recordings will be released on SACD Hybrid Stereo and 180g One-step Pressing Vinyl LP as part of the Chesky Original Masters series.
