My Own Worst Enemy is a collaboration between two of the most respected men in Rap—Roxbury’s Edo G & Mount Vernon, NY’s Pete Rock. Pete mailed physical beat tapes to Edo in Boston and he chose from them to create the ode to his home Boston that was heard across the city shortly after the Red Sox ended their 86 year World Series drought.

Contributors include Special Teamz member Jaysaun on Just Call My Name, Streets Is Callin—produced by and featuring longtime collaborator and former labelmate Diamond D and Stop Dat also featuring Lawtown’s Krumb Snatcha and Soul Brother #1 Pete Rock.

Ed & Pete team up again on Right Now! Edo waxes poetic with his A&E partner Masta Ace on the DJ Supreme produced Wishing where they imagine a better world we’re all still hoping comes to fruition one day. On tracks like Voices and School ‘Em Edo G drops the bars, Pete supplies the beat and the hook—showcasing the everlasting classic appeal of a true partnership between an emcee and producer on wax.
