First vinyl reissue of the much-cherished one and only album by Freedom North, recorded by Brian Chater’s Summerlea and released on the Aquarius label in 1970. 

Based in Montreal, and known as Freedom, Freedom of Choice (for the US release of their debut single on Wand) — and finally, Freedom North, the band had success with their first two singles, both released in 1970: ‘Doctor Tom’ and 'Losing You’. Freedom North toured extensively, often with other Montreal bands such as Mashmakhan and April Wine. 

Freedom North’s tight and uplifting sound may be described as dreamy soft psychedelia, with clear West-Coast influences, fronted by the ethereal vocals of Franki Hart. As a side-note, ‘Losing You’ recently made an appearance on "Brown Acid: The Twenty-First Trip.”

This reissue includes 4 BONUS tracks: two B-sides + two other previously unreleased tracks making their vinyl debut, and a 4-panel insert with the band’s history as told in their own words, and song lyrics too.
