Josh Ritter is a renowned singer, songwriter, musician, visual artist, and best-selling author. Widely regarded as one of today’s most thoughtful and prolific voices, he continues to release work that is both profound and inspirational. His upcoming 2025 album, I Believe in You, My Honeydew, leans into a more band-forward sound, offering a dynamic shift from some of his more intimate past recordings.
Ritter’s songwriting has earned consistent praise, with NPR Music noting that “he remains a hydrant of ideas while embodying an endless capacity for empathy and indignation, often within a single song.”
Beyond music, Ritter is also an acclaimed author. His two novels—Bright’s Passage (2011) and The Great Glorious Goddamn of It All (2021)—have received national attention. Writing for The New York Times Book Review, Stephen King praised Bright’s Passage, saying it “shines with a compressed lyricism that recalls Ray Bradbury in his prime… This is the work of a gifted novelist.”
