Mist of Belonging, composed and produced by Grammy nominated Peter Gordon along with the visionary talent Emmy award winner Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR) and noted holistic healer Rebecca Carroll embodies the collective spirit of this recording. Their compassion and understanding drives the creative expression, providing pathways for hope and promise while creating a space that reaches us with calm, hope and well-being. The album serves as an audio off-ramp from the high stress, high anxiety lives we lead, allowing us to pause and step outside the echo chamber surrounding us. Gordon's flute seems to breathe alongside us, guiding a meditative journey. DBR's electric and acoustic violin, masterfully weaves between the notes adding expressive gestures that speak all languages and crystal bowl practitioner, Rebecca Carroll, provides a sustained sense of warmth and cohesion. Native American flute and tongue drums serve to center us as a grounding force. With gentle guidance, this music cradles us, inviting us into a quiet shared space-a mist of belonging. Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR) is a Black, Haitian-American composer who sees composing as a collaboration with artists, organizations and communities within the farming and framing of ideas. He is a prolific and endlessly collaborative composer, performer, educator, and social entrepreneur. "About as omnivorous as a contemporary artist gets" (New York Times), Roumain has worked with artists from J'Nai Bridges, Lady Gaga and Philip Glass to Bill T. Jones, Marin Alsop, Ryuichi Sakamoto and Anna Deavere Smith. Rebecca Carroll has extensive training in holistic healing. She blends Sound Healing, Breath, Movement, Energy, Spirit, and more to uncover the Light, Life, and Joy. She is a Train-the-Trainer presenter, and Board Member for GreenTree Yoga, a practitioner and trainer in First Aid for Stress & Trauma techniques developed by the Peaceful Heart Network, and is the Assistant Director of the Advanced Institute of Sound. Life is a Magnificent Gift! Peter Gordon is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer. He believes cross-genre instrumental music creates a universal dialogue with listeners. Shared human experiences, shared challenges and crumbs of wisdom all bond us all together in this musical exchange. He has also been a founding member and executive of several international and national organizations that focus on advocacy and professional development and best practices for the independent music community.
