Recording information: 01/07/1963-01/09/1963.
This 22-track set covers the first commercial period of Paul Anka's recording career in the late '50s, and includes his ABC Records hits "Diana," "Puppy Love," and "Put Your Head on My Shoulder," as well as his version of "It Doesn't Matter Anymore," a song Anka wrote for Buddy Holly, and several other period sides from Anka's pre-RCA Records era. There are a couple of omissions from the time period, most notably "Lonely Boy" and "It's Time to Cry," but the essential gist of this phase of Anka's career is well represented here. ~ Steve Leggett
