Growing up to the sounds of Jimmy Reed, Jimi Hendrix, The Yardbirds, Bob Dylan, and the Rolling Stones, it's no surprise that Michael Powers' music is steeped in Delta Blues tinged with the soul of Brit Rock. Add to that his mother's faith and support, providing him with a guitar at the age of seven, Michael has followed his own musical path combining blues and rock with an originality and versatility engrained in his whole being. Following up the critically-acclaimed Onyx Root (Baryon Records 2004), Prodigal Son explores Michael's spiritual roots with a mix of originals and covers that display forgiveness and compassion.
