A deeply soulful beat-ballad with a message, "It's so Hard" tells a tale that we unfortunately know too well–a couple promising kids whose lives get cut short when they inadvertently get caught up in the hustling, drugs, and guns that surround them. Fortified with a toughness that's unmistakably Detroit, the track takes you on a cross-country journey, marrying the cool, east coast swagger of T-Neck era Isleys with the laid back groove coveted by the WC lowrider soul scene. A raw expression of the violence far too many young folks have to bear.
