The JKR label returns with its second release from KOGUI, aka Jay Ka. This new EP explores the boundaries of contemporary dub through four tracks with a strong, immersive sound.
First up, led with SLEDGE, a deep dub reggae track enriched by the voice of this Jamaican singer, the project embraces an aesthetic that is both organic and hypnotic, evoking the minimalist textures and sonic spaces of European dub. Next, two dub house/dub techno tracks extend this atmosphere by blending subtle grooves with streamlined electronic structures.
The record concludes with a remix by KOGUI himself of the track “Hope-Pression,” revealing a darker and more introspective facet of his sonic universe
