Description

Rie Murakami’s "SAHARA," which has seen a remarkable reevaluation overseas, is set to be reissued on clear orange vinyl for Record Day 2026.

In recent years, the album has come to be appreciated not only from a city pop perspective, but also from the angles of new wave and fusion.

Produced by Masanori Sasaji, the album features Takayuki Hijikata and other members of Mariah, along with many of Japan’s finest technical musicians, including Kosuke Mine and Jun Aoyama.

Filled throughout with the fresh arrangements and melodies unique to the 1980s, the album continues to captivate many listeners with its sophisticated sound and transparent vocals, especially on the exotic title track "SAHARA."
