Some might argue that Sasha & Digweed's Northern Exposure mix CD was the peak of commercial mix CDs. Released exactly 30 years ago, it came with so much attention to detail, and thoughtful scope that it set a benchmark of its own. From the illustration on the in-lay that detailed the mix and graphically showed how long the blends went for, to the actual sonic spread that ranged from dub and ambient to driving techno and sexy cosmic breaks, both CDs stood the test of time in the same way both pioneers' reputations and careers have. Now to mark its anniversary the duo have returned to the original tracks and not only remastered the mix but created a whole new third mix with their own edits and sorcery. Yes. A brand new Northern Exposure mix. This is what old prog head dreams are made of.
