Description
Hailing from Philadelphia, The Trouble With Sweeney have been performing and recording since 1999. Blending a rootsy, alt-country sensibility witha chamber-pop sense of orchestration, the group is ready to unveil its third recording, "The Trouble With Sweeney Play Karen And Others". Recorded over three days with Elk City drummer Ray Ketchum at his state-of-the-art home studio, the seven song mini- CD marks a slight departure from the raw, country rock arrangements that characterized their debut CD, "Dear Life" (on Burnt Toast Vinyl). Frontman Joey Sweeney--known in many circles as a rock writer for the Philadelphia Weekly, Salon, Time Out NY, etc.--continues to fill his songs with humorous, touching narritives but the new songs hint at a subtler, more refined approach. "The Trouble With Sweeney Play Karen And Others" is a co-release from Basement Life Records and Burnt Toast Vinyl. Standard Jewel Case/Box Lot-50
